Irrigation Experience Park at Ji'an Canal's Second Main Line

Basic information

Introduction
The Ji'an Canal, the largest irrigation canal in northern Hualien, draws its water from the tailwater of the Chuying Power Plant. Initially, the settling basin of Ji'an Canal's second main line served only for sediment discharge and drainage, and had become overgrown with weeds. The Hualien Management Office later redeveloped this area into an ecological park, transforming it into a dual-purpose site serving both as an irrigation facility and an educational center. The park now maintains its sediment discharge functions and continues to provide irrigation water for farmers along the second main line of Ji'an Canal. Additionally, it offers visitors insights into rural tourism and canal construction techniques, seamlessly blending the beauty of mountains and water.
